Politics and Prose begins its 2011 series of events with Washington Post music critic Anne Midgette on Wednesday, January 5 at 7:00 p.m. Midgette will discuss her collaboration with pianist Leon Fleischer on My Nine Lives. On Thursday, January 6 at 7:00 p.m., Edmund Morris discusses Colonel Roosevelt, the final volume in his award-winning, three-part biography of Theodore Roosevelt.
On Saturday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m., Matthew Gilmore and Joshua Olsen discuss their Foggy Bottom and the West End in Vintage Images. Many residents along Connecticut Avenue take the L-1 bus to Foggy Bottom and might find it interesting to learn more about the history of that neighborhood, home today to the George Washington University, the Kennedy Center, the Pan American Health Organization, the U.S. Department of State, and the Watergate complex.
